Life is a Metaphor

Life is an opportunity

Yesterday, we attended our Couples for Christ Chapter Assembly here in Jakarta Indonesia. The talk was given by our Chapter Head Bro. Jojo Apolo. As always, he gave a very inspiring talk that when we all went home we were so filled up and soaring high.
His talk was about the POWER OF METAPHORS. So what is a metaphor? According to it is

a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance, as in “A mighty fortress is our God.”.

Mother Teresa is quoted using a lot of Metaphors.

“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.”
― Mother Teresa

According to Bro. Jojo we should have our personal metaphors. These metaphors should:
1. Influence our behavior
2. Invisible guide to our choices for learning new capabilities
3. Impact our core values and life purpose

And these metaphors that we choose should answer the following questions:
1. Does this symbol help me to face day to day challenges in my life
Does this symbol make me weak.?
2. Does it help me make me peaceful, become positive in life?
3. Does this symbol inspire me to build my skills to be competent and learn more things?
4. Is my metaphor aligned to my values and beliefs. What is important to me?
5. Is it aligned to my purpose?
6. Is it aligned to God’s calling?

So what’s your metaphor?

Common, you dont need to think big or research for it. What comes to mind at this time is your metaphor. Through time, it may evolve to become who you really are.

I Give My All

bigger gift

Everytime i do something whether it be spiritual or just the ordinary household task, i give it my all. Always done the best that i can. For i believe that all the things we do here on earth is for God’s greater glory. Sometimes, we think its just a menial task but if we look at the bigger picture it means a lot.

So why not do something whether big or small – always do it with the best way you can.

In that way, you contribute to make this world a better place to live in.

The other day we had an honoring for a dear friend and a co member of our CFC Household. While we were honoring, I noticed that there was a specific trait that my friend has. It was PEACE. But then, there were two kinds of PEACE that was being attributed to her. It was therapeutic PEACE and calming PEACE. Then it dawn on me that indeed there are two kinds of PEACE. That which is therapeutic meaning you radiate peace from within. And that PEACE you give to people that you meet. On the other hand, the calming peace is the peace that you have yourself, meaning within you. You feel that peace and in so doing people look at you as peaceful and calm and full of serenity.
May we always have those two kinds of peace. May we radiate Therapeutic Peace and feel that Calming Peace within.
Come pray with me that we may have that everlasting peace.

Have a Great Day!

Do you believe that when you start your day with positive thoughts, it will be a great day?
Well, i am a firm believer on that.
So why not start your day with this great affirmations,

I am happy.
I am protected.
I am guided.
I am healed.
I am comforted.
I am strong.
I am filled with kindness.
I am deeply loved.
I am abundantly blessed.

Then surround yourself with positive people. People who are God fearing and people who are always attuned with God. Then i guarantee you. Your day will be great.
