Small Things With Great Love

I would like to Honor and give due recognition to all Moms who do a 24 hour job taking care of their children whether they be a month old or a grown up. Moms who specifically gave up their careers to be with their children. They work silently in the background. Just making sure that their children are properly taken cared of. And the house is spotlessly clean. These are the Moms who should be appreciated and given due recognition.
But a working Mom should be equally recognised and appreciated too because they have to juggle between work and the children. Which for me is a very hard task to do.

Since today we celebrate International Women’s Day – let me salute all women who in their own little way makes a difference in the world we live in.

Life is a Metaphor

Life is an opportunity

Yesterday, we attended our Couples for Christ Chapter Assembly here in Jakarta Indonesia. The talk was given by our Chapter Head Bro. Jojo Apolo. As always, he gave a very inspiring talk that when we all went home we were so filled up and soaring high.
His talk was about the POWER OF METAPHORS. So what is a metaphor? According to it is

a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance, as in “A mighty fortress is our God.”.

Mother Teresa is quoted using a lot of Metaphors.

“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.”
― Mother Teresa

According to Bro. Jojo we should have our personal metaphors. These metaphors should:
1. Influence our behavior
2. Invisible guide to our choices for learning new capabilities
3. Impact our core values and life purpose

And these metaphors that we choose should answer the following questions:
1. Does this symbol help me to face day to day challenges in my life
Does this symbol make me weak.?
2. Does it help me make me peaceful, become positive in life?
3. Does this symbol inspire me to build my skills to be competent and learn more things?
4. Is my metaphor aligned to my values and beliefs. What is important to me?
5. Is it aligned to my purpose?
6. Is it aligned to God’s calling?

So what’s your metaphor?

Common, you dont need to think big or research for it. What comes to mind at this time is your metaphor. Through time, it may evolve to become who you really are.

Working Women

This month of March we are celebrating Women’s Month. In line with this celebration i am posting herewith my Working Women Series of Paintings that i made through the years.
I have always been inspired to make these paintings by the fact that women really works hard in what ever profession she is in. I Honor most specially the Mothers who tirelessly give their time, talent and treasure for the family.

Today, i was watching Grey’s Anatomy and i came across this beautiful marriage vow/

Today’s the day my life begins. All my life I’ve been just me. Just a smart mouth kid. Today I become a man. Today I become a husband. Today I become accountable to someone other than myself. Today I become accountable to you. To our future. To all the possibilities that a marriage has to offer. Together, no matter what happens, I’ll be ready. For anything. For everything. To take on life, to take on love. To take on possibility and responsibility. Today Izzie Stevens, our life together begins. And I for one can’t wait.

The other day i was suffering from colds and cough. I wanted to drink some medications but since i couldn’t get hold of one, my cousin suggested Ginger and Lemon. So i made a natural drink. Let me share it with you.

Pound 2-3 rhizomes of Ginger and slice them and place them on a pot. Pour 1 glass of water and let boil for 20 minutes. Then Strain and place on a glass. Squeeze in one half slice of lemon. Drink while hot.
